Overview

Avid collectors of foreign Barbie® dolls have sought foreign-exclusive Barbie® dolls for over four decades. Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and Venezuela are among the countries with unique Barbie® dolls featured in this inclusive book. A foreign 'Photo Family Tree' will delight collectors who will be introduced to foreign Barbie® friends Danbie, Eli, Ellie, Flora, Lia, Kotbie, Marie, Noel, Reina, Sophie, Stephanie, Susie, Tina, Valerie, and Viky. Readers will be surprised to learn fascinating details such as Ken being named 'Bob' in Brazil and 'Kenny' in Argentina, while the historic first 'black Barbie®' sold in the U.S. was called 'Christie' in Europe. This is the first book devoted entirely to foreign Barbie® dolls. Even Barbie® doll's tiny sister Kelly (known as 'Shelly' outside the U.S.) is well represented in this book. Featuring 1,400 foreign Barbie®-family dolls in 2,400 full color photos, with many close-ups for easy identification. 2008 values.
