Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
She's won two Oscars, nine Grammys, and four Emmys and sold over 71 million albums. Barbra Streisand's credentials are impeccable; but her personality and allure remain mysterious. Nick Yapp's elegant pictorial highlights her rise from a Williamsburg, Brooklyn, childhood to teenage nightclub singer to Broadway and Hollywood fame and music superstardom. The pictures pay full homage to Barbra's unconventional beauty, her restlessness, her fervency, and her versatility as a performer. A keepsake of an incomparable career.\

This book is a must for any ardent Streisand fan.

The book is filled with pictures, many of which are shown for the first time. I have been a fan and collector of Streisand since 1964. This book has some candid photos that, to my knowledge, haven't been widely published before. The book encompasses Barbra's childhood, rise to stardom and career through June 28, 2007, when she was awarded the Legion d'Honneur Award by France's President Nicolas Sarkozy.

    DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!!!

The photographs were lovely, but there was so much misinformation if not downright lies in the text that Mr. Yapp should be ashamed of himself. Not only should he do more research on his facts before he puts a book to print, but he should also refrain from injecting his personal biases into what is supposedly an objective account of this celebrity's life. For this reason, I returned my copy and got my money back.

Interesting, accurate,a lot of previously unseen photos-

Fascinating coverage of a career spanding 45 years.
Brought back a lot of memories of her many achievements-
She seemed to be constantly criticized for what is now hailed as a "Susan Boyles" success story. She was continually told that she didn't look like a star. The word to stress is TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
