Barnyard Bath!

Overview

Here comes BarnYard Bath! It’s a waterproof cousin of Barnyard Dance—the famous board book bestseller. And what could make tub time more fun than a book? Especially one that floats. Because let's face it, board books are highly impractical in the tub. Safety-tested, nontoxic, and so much fun—just like Bath Time!, Boynton's first bath book.

Meet the Author

Sandra Boynton

Sandra Boynton is a popular American cartoonist, writer, and songwriter. Since 1974, Boynton has written and illustrated over forty children’s books and seven general audience books, including four New York Times bestsellers. More than 60 million of her books have been sold—“mostly to friends and family,” she says. She has also written and produced five albums of award-winning children’s music. Three of her albums have been certified Gold, and Philadelphia Chickens, nominated for a Grammy, is nearing Platinum. She lives with her family on a farm in New England.

Biography

In the 1980s, it was hard to enter a gift shop without seeing Sandra Boynton's name. Her humorous pen-and-watercolor cartoons of hippos, ewes, and her famous turkeys (you know, symbolizing the human ones in life who can get you down) were emblazoned on cards, mugs, stickers, stationery...and of course, her wonderful, wacky books, the first of which was 1979's Hippos Go Berserk! .

Boynton began her career as a greeting card illustrator with aspirations of theater directing; but having a family changed her focus, and she began devoting herself full-time to art. Her board books, filled with goofy animal illustrations and rhyming verse, are toddler staples. But their appeal to adults is undeniable, and she has also written a number of humor books for the general public.

Given the rhythmic, buoyant style of her writing, it was only natural that Boynton would become involved in companion music to her books. From the '90s on, several of her titles included accompanying CDs, culminating in the 2002 release of Philadelphia Chickens, a CD-book extravaganza written with composer Michael Ford and featuring musical performances by several high-profile stars.

Who knows what lies ahead for this irrepressible force of nature? If there's one thing Sandra Boynton has proved in the course of her remarkably diverse career, it's that she's not lost her capacity to surprise us. (Thank heavens!)

    good bath book

This book is great to use in the bath tub! With the little washcloth included, my baby was scrubbing all the animals right away!

    So fun for bath time!

My daughter loves to read this book at bath time.
I am a huge fan of Boynton books, and this one does not disappoint! It is rhyming, and sweet, and it comes with a washcloth so your little one can wash each of the characters, and then herself!

    Love Boynton Books!

LOVED them. I loved reading all Boynton books to my five year old when she was little because the musical tone of the books made her smile. She is now reading them to my granddaughter, which is so much fun to listen to. We love them so much I have kept all our Boynton books for my daughter to save for her children and are now buying a collection of her own for my granddaughter. Boynton books are a MUST BUY!

    Bath Time, Fun Time

A waterproof book that floats. Now that's an unexpected play item for little ones. Make bath time fun and educational at the same time. Sandra Boynton has done it again with whimsical barnyard buddies.
