    Barron's AP Biology Review

This text was informative; it provided a comprehensive review of the AP Biology material, and overall, I was quite pleased with it. Obviously, students should never simply use a review book to garner all their knowledge for a test as important as an AP. Along with this book, I would definitely recommend using the Sparknotes 5 steps to a 5, your class textbook (particularly if it has review "snippets" at the end of each chapter). One other thing: don't even think about cramming for this test. Unless you're like a genius or have photographic memory, the only way to adequately prepare for this test is a slow build-up of constant and steady studying. Good luck! I know this is pretty dang intimidating, but most people end up doing well if they truly care and carve out time for sufficient preparation.

    Awesome Guide

An awesome review, Barron's AP Biology Study Guide is /the/ book to get. If you're serious at all about getting a good score on the AP exam, Barron's is the way to go. Although the text is advanced and requires great amounts of dedication, it's undoubtedly the amazing. This guide doesn't give you shortcuts or tricks to memorize things -- it gives you the information, abundant amounts of it. Go for it. Using this book, in conjunction with the SAT II Biology Book (from Barron's, as well), and my Honors Biology Class (non-AP!), I was able to get a 750 on my SAT, and a 5 on my AP Biology exam.
    Best of luck!

    EXTREMELY Helpful

So of course you need to read the textbook to do well on the AP exam, but using this book in addition to the textbook will make you do even better. Besides being helpful for the AP exam, this is also a great tool for reviewing for tests in class and is really concise, making you focus on only the most important details. The sections on plants were especially helpful for me because my teacher hardly spent any time on this area. I had to purchase this book for my class along with every other student in my school taking AP Biology, and most of my classmates hardly ever used it. What a waste! I am so glad I used this book. Barron's helped me get a 5 on the AP exam (which I didn't think was possible for me - I thought for sure I'd get no higher than a 3) and a 780 on the SAT subject test. I'm probably not supposed to say this, but one of the questions on the SAT subject test seemed to come directly out of this book. If I hadn't read this, I would have surely gotten that particular question (and numerous others) wrong.

Definitely get this as a study guide for AP Bio

My daughter used this as her study guide. She doesn't have her score back yet so doesn't know for sure how useful this was but it felt useful to her for studying and recommended by her teacher.
