The GRE Graduate Record Exam is changing substantially starting in August 2011, and Barron's is now ready with a thoroughly revised test prep manual that reflects the new exam's content. Although the GRE's Analytical Writing section remains essentially unchanged, new question types appear in both the GRE's Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections, and the model tests in Barron's brand-new 19th edition reflect these changes:
Barron's new GRE manual offers intensive practice and review for all question types plus a diagnostic test and two full-length model GREs with answer keys and explanations for all questions answered. The authors also present a test overview and valuable chapters on test-taking tactics. The manual comes with an enclosed CD-ROM offering model tests that closely reflect the computer-based test-taking conditions that students must be familiar with. The CD-ROM contains two full-length model tests in addition to those in the book. These computer-adaptive tests come with answers, explanations, and automatic scoring.

I purchased this book to help me brush up for the GRE since it's been nearly 20 years since I graduated. The only available was one with a CD, but I was sorely disappointed with this product. The book is fine, but the CD is full of glitches. It does not allow you to review your answers as promised in the book (after 3, it stopped showing any answers at all) and of the 3 it showed, 2 were actually correct and for the 3rd their answer was wrong. Worse, the company was unhelpful in correcting the issues or in providing support for their product. Don't waste your money.
I have used the Barron's review books(with CD-ROM) in the past with success. Unfortunately, this particular CD has some pretty serious flaws. I have taken the first test to find that in one section the reading passage does not correspond to the questions and that some of the graphs and pie charts do not correspond to their questions either. Also, after reviewing my score and checking each "wrong" answer I found that I had selected what the description describes as the correct answer, but apparently there is a glitch and they were marked incorrect in at least 5 instances. The book itslef is fine, but don't pay the extra cost to get the CD until they release an updated version.
