Barton's Promise Volume 2 - A Promise Kept

Read how Max fulfills his promise, after much struggle, pain, and loss in Volume 2.

Barton's Promise is a story about a young man, Max Barton, who during his early life was not exceptional in any way. Yet, he found his purpose in life in unexpected ways. He matured and developed professionally and personally when faced with great challenges in war, in law enforcement and in his personal life. When severely wounded in Vietnam he pleaded for a second chance at life and made a promise, if saved, to serve and protect. When once again very early in his law enforcement career he was severely wounded again, he again pleaded for another chance to live and he renewed his promise to serve and protect.

His pathway to fulfillment of that promise was not clear, nor was it direct. His very human weaknesses kept him from seeing a clear direction to follow and fulfill his covenant. During the years of this story Max saved many lives. He also killed at least five men, maybe more. However, it was only in self-defense and the defense of others.

Eventually, his faith, his perseverance and the love of remarkable and very different women, gave him the strength to live a very remarkable and impactful life.
