I Also Recommend:
I had seen the first episode of the anime and the series began to intrigue me. The story is about a girl named Sarasa who has a twin brother named Tatara. She is always overshadowed by her brother who is deemed the chosen one by a prophet. Sarasa is just the sister of the chosen one and is overlooked. The chosen one is supposed to liberate Japan from it's oppression. Since they live in the west of Japan it is specifically to dethrone the Red King. The Red King comes to their village to kill Tatara and succeeds. Once this happens Sarasa sees her village people losing hope and makes the split second decision to pretend to be her twin brother. Everyone believes she is Tatara and her journey begins. It is a deeply moving series and I found myself crying on more than one occassion. I highly recommend this series to anyone. The mangaka, Yumi Tamura, writes it in a way that connects you to all of the characters. You even feel sympathy towards some of the villains. It's a story with hate, trust, love, and many other emotions. Since it is a shoujo there is of course romance in it. For those that don't know shoujo is a romance targeted more towards a female audience. It's not only romance however, there is a lot of action and the journey introduces you to many characters. It may seem like a daunting task to read such a long series, but I would not let that stop you. After you finish you find yourself wanting even more. It doesn't become confusing either. I found it very easy to remember all of the characters and their backgrounds which surprised me. It is very well written and interesting. If you want a good read, then this is the right series for you.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
