Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
YA A must for avid baseball fans, as no other book deals with the All-Stars as thoroughly. It begins with the first All-Star Game at Comisky Park, Chicago, in 1933 and progresses through to the 1986 game. For each year, Lenburg has recounted the highlights of the game, as well as included a total box score listing the players and the teams they represented. What sets this recapping of baseball lore apart is the vivid narrative which Lenburg uses in his ``play by play'' of the games' highlights. He captures the feeling and tone of old newspaper articles, a lost art in journalism. Unfortunately, no photos of the games or the players are included. This book is a winner in any league and a fine addition to library collections. James K. Nerad, Episcopal High School, Bellaire, Tex.
