    Heatherheart's Destiny Chapter 1

Thanks for commenting. You don't know how much it means to me that people actually enjoy my writing. If you haven't commented please do so. Also you won't hear about Golden Sun for a little while since this is Heatherheart's story. Don't worry, by the end of the story you'll know all about Golden Sun's life too. For now, enjoy.

"Can we go explore camp?" Poolkit asked.
"Good idea. Please can we?" Graykit added hopping out of the nest.
"Okay. You can explore as long as you don't get in the warriors' way," Flowertail mewed to her kits. "Moonkit, you can go too." Flowertail nudged Moonkit out of the nest.
"Can I explore too?" Heatherkit squeaked in a small voice. She had been waiting for Flowertail to push her out of the nest too, but her mother hadn't.
"Sorry, Heatherkit but you can't. You're eyes haven't opened yet," Flowertail responded.
"Oh," Heatherkit sighed. "But why won't you open them? You did open their eyes." She gestured with her tail toward her siblings. They were talking to Harewhisker's kits very loudly.
"I didn't open their eyes, they opened their own eyes. All kits open their eyes when they are ready," Flowertail explained.
"What if mine never open? Then I'll never be able to see," Heatherkit worried.
"Don't worry, they'll open soon," Flowertail meowed. She licked Heatherkit's ear, and murmered something about her siblings and how they'd already opened their eyes.
Heatherkit listened to Harewhisker's older kits, Petalkit and Frecklekit. They were talking about the different dens. I wish my eyes would open now. Then I could see the dens with my siblings. Heatherkit really wanted to know where Sunheart, her father, slept.
Suddenly, Heatherkit's stomach ached. "Oww," she groaned falling back into the nest.
"Heatherkit are you alright?" Harewhisker asked padding over to Heatherkit's mossy nest. She had been watching the other kits.
"I'm fine," Heatherkit responded quietly. "Where's Flowertail?"
"She went to go get the medicine cat, Dawnrose," Harewhisker explained. "She will be back soon. You should rest."
Heatherkit nodded, too weak to say anything. Her stomach twisted and turned, and she wished she hadn't drunk so much milk that morning.
Finally, Flowertail returned with Dawnrose following her.Heatherkit groaned as her stomach tensened and loosened. "Oww," she moaned.
"No!" Flowertail shreiked. "Dawnrose do something. It doesn't take a medicine cat to know she's in pain." Flowertail ran up to her tiny kit, and hugged her tightly. "Don't tell me she's going to die!"
