About the Author

Hello, I'm Nolan Reeves, author of 'Bash Shell from Zero to Hero: An SRE's Practical Guide to Terminal Skills, Scripting, and Automation'.

Seven years ago, I was a junior developer intimidated by the terminal screen. I still vividly remember the panic I felt that day when a single 'rm -rf' command brought down an entire server. That mistake became my catalyst for properly learning the Bash shell, and today I work as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer managing over 3,000 servers at one of the largest e-commerce companies.

I wrote this book because I wanted to walk with you along the same path I've traveled—from the fundamentals of Bash shell to the automation scripts used in professional environments, not just a listing of commands. All the practical examples for AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes environments have been refined from actual problems I've faced and solved in my day-to-day work.

This book will be particularly helpful for:
- Junior developers who are unfamiliar with terminals but need to start managing servers
- System administrators tired of repetitive manual tasks
- Those aspiring to transition their careers into DevOps/SRE

With me by your side, you too can become a shell master who wields the Bash shell with confidence and skill.
