A Simple, Methodical and Comprehensive Guide to Basic Heart Arrhythmias
This book is written for persons who wish to learn the basics about electrocardiography. Specifically, the author focuses on presenting a simple to understand methodology for recognizing basic arrhythmias. Ms. Walraven begins with an easy to grasp explanation about why and how the heart creates electrical currents that can be read with EKGs. She then provides five rules that allow for recognition of 20+ basic arrhythmias with EKGs. Finally, she goes through each of the arrhythmias individually, applying the rules presented earlier in the book. The book includes full chapters of EKG practice strips, and also comes with a CD and flash cards. For someone wanting or needing to learn the basics about reading EKGs, this is an excellent and easy to understand book.
