It is an eclectic collection of classic and new Italian recipes – for big and small parties, for a quick lunch or an in between snack. Auntie Jane's special tips are here too. Layout and photography are in the same style as for the other basic books, with action shots of alfresco meals and parties, of swimming, and Italian style picnics.

Great cookbook for beginners and experts, a MUST HAVE

I picked this book up at Costco at half the price. I was just browsing but when I opened the book it caught my attention immediately. It was like reading a great magazine, articles, recipes and great photos. It also talks about stocking your house with staples for cooking and what to look for in certain items like garlic and oils, etc. Many of the recipes can easily use a substitution of another type of meat or pasta so the options are endless. There's plenty of recipes to help you use extra tomatoes and veggies from you summer garden. Again, the photos are fantastic. I would have bought two but I happened upon the last copy I think. I'll be searching for more for gifts at the $8.99 price!! I came online to look for their other 'basic' books. Highly recommended
