Terry's book will save you a lot of trips to the college classrooms. Amazing work that does not need a teacher in front of you, but just her book.

The rating is low b/c of the Nook eTextbook being available for one day, then saying the book couldn't be found. The cover graphic, title, etc. is all there. My account shows it installed on 1 of 2 computers. The book can be found, obviously. It's just faulty B&N software that tanks. Go for a hard copy or use a reliable software provider instead of Nook.

We use this book in a community college course for both online and face-to-face classes. The full-color book is engaging for students. The two-page topics are geared towards students who may be more visually oriented and who don't want to read a lot. The hands-on practice exercises encourage students to apply what they've just learned. The students really like the hands-on approach with examples, practice exercises, and case studies. This textbook focuses on how to use HTML5 and CSS3 today and while introducing new elements and techniques that will be utilized in the future. Where appropriate, both XHTML and HTML5 syntax are discussed. There is also excellent coverage of web standards, web design best practices, accessibility, usability, and search engine optimization techniques. A bonus is the textbook's companion website at webdevbasics dot net that has a page for each chapter with chapter links, additional information, flash review puzzles, and chapter updates. I highly recommend this book!

I need to clarify. I bought this book because of the reviews that I have read. And they are true it is a great book. I can not recommend this book because you are not given access to all the downloads. If you buy this book from collage book store you can get all the downloads. Because I did buy this book through Barns and Noble they WILL NOT sell me access to the students downloads. I called Barns and Noble and they had no clue. I called Pearson and they are just rude. I even emailed the author and got no response, not sure what to think of that. If you do not mind being completely on you own this is a great book. Layout is great the companion website with the learning games, perfect for a student. Just to rest is a total loss.
