    Black and White Brilliance

Batman Black and White vol. 1 is a truly beautiful book, that is epic in talent and scope. Reprinting Batman Black and White #1-4, some of comic book¿s most recognized, ingenious creators came together to create 8 page stories, spinning tales that range across decades with a vast array of creative views and villains. No matter what your taste is, you¿re sure to find one or two stories in this tome that will dazzle you, and it should be suitable for younger as well as older readers, making it an all ages book. As a special treat, each story is framed by a blurb about the author and artist so if you find any new favorites you can look up more of their work. There is also a gallery of covers and pin ups that are a real visual treat. I would recommend this to all, regardless of age or how much you¿re into comic books. This is one of the rare books that will be enjoyed by someone who¿s never picked up a comic and seasoned comic book veterans. Highest recommendations!!

    Stunning

An absolutely spellbinding anthology of (unrelated) shorts featuring Batman and a few of the more familiar villains, along with one or two introspective looks into the Dark Knight's psyche. The stories are secondary to the art: as you may have been able to guess, it is entirely black and white. Several of the best artists illustrated for these shorts, and their hard work pays off here. The stories themselves are mostly good, but a few were somewhat mediocre (hence, only four stars). Give this one a read, you won't regret it.
