    Victorian Batman

I remember buying this when it first came out, not realizing it would give birth to an entire series of "Elseworlds" books. Mignola's illustrations, while different from eveyone else I was familiar with at the time is bold but not over the top. The pitting of Batman against Jack the Ripper is, honestly, kind of a low hanging fruit. I'm surprised it hasn't happened before. The story, however is well handled with a plot twist I really should have seen coming but didn't. Well worth picking up in digital or hard copy.
