Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Shirley Nelson
In this "Choose Your Fate Adventure Book," Batman goes up against several super-villains including Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freezer, and the Joker. At the end of most of the short chapters, the reader has a choice of two or three outcomes. For example, should Batman continue following the route he thinks Catwoman has taken or should he investigate the noise around the corner? Following one of these clues may lead to several more chapters with several choices or to a short chapter ending the adventure. With a total of fifty-nine chapters, the reader can enjoy many short adventures. Twenty puzzles are included that provide additional clues. Readers may solve Word Searches, Word Scrambles, Hidden Messages, Secret Codes, or Mazes. An Answer Key at the back of the book provides answers to all puzzles as well as the order of reading that will enable Batman to defeat all villains. Reluctant readers will enjoy creating new adventures through a variety of choices. Reviewer: Shirley Nelson
