The first story is the origin of Bane, who is born in a prison and raised through living in isolation and fending for himself. He is then introduced to to a drug called Venom! The next story comes after he breaks Batman and is introduced to Ra's al Ghul and Talia. This story had much promise as Bane is trying to find out who his father was, but it ends with opening a larger story arc and without a name for his father.

This is not just the one-shot that would be in Knightfall, but the one-shot BATMAN/BANE and BATMAN: BANE OF THE DEMON #1-4, From the original solicitation "Bane is back - and he's out to break Gotham City as he broke Batman. All he needs to get the job done is a few nuclear weapons! Guest-starring Ra's al Ghul and Talia!" One of the better pre-New 52 stories by fan-favourite Chuck Dixon and one of the better stories featuring Bane until the Secret Six series.

In this collection we are shown Bane’s origins. Sadly they are mundane and unbelievable by comic book standards. The relationship between Bane, Talia, and Ra’s Al Ghul is interesting and I really enjoyed that but not much else, story wise. The art was run of the mill but not bad. Overall a below average read!

If you are looking for "Vengeance of Bane" I suggest you just wait a little as it is going to be available soon as part of Batman: Knightfall Vol. 1.
