Overview

In this riveting conclusion to the irresistible Jewel Society series, all will be surprisingly revealed!

It's the battle of the brightest as the Jewels and Rivals prepare to face-off at the National Quiz Bowl Championship. But before they can get down to studying, the Jewels must gear up to find and save the last of the special gems: the sapphire!

And even if they're successful, the Jewels will need to steal back the other stones before they can track down the ultimate treasure that Martha Washington hid all those years ago.

As more secret notes begin to appear, the Jewels become entangled in a web of clues that threaten to throw them off course. In this fast-paced conclusion to the series, it will take every bit of courage, cooperation, and wit the best friends have to unearth the secrets buried in the past--and the gauntlet of lies set down before them. This time, the Jewels are racing for the truth!

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Bonita Herold
The Martha Washington Jewels continually hope to outshine the Atkinson Preparatory School Rivals, current stars of the middle school quiz bowl scene. The members of each team distrust each other so it is surprising, indeed, when the opponents unite to try to locate a missing sapphire—especially so when it’s a known fact that the Rivals had already stolen three jewels! In the process of looking for clues, they realize that original members of the Memento Mori, a super-secret club at Atkinson, may have taken it as a prank many years earlier. It is apparent that someone close to one of them must get invited to join! While young readers are kept on the edge of their seats by this mystery, they should not expect any nicely packaged resolution. They must be prepared to read the “Jewel Society” series to find out what happens next—not a bad idea behind getting children to read! Reviewer: Bonita Herold; Ages 8 to 12.
