    Use the Force, Richard Hatch

I like the tv show BattleStar Galactic as kid and growing up I still like it. Hatch and Golden need to add depth to the characters. Plus please get away from the master race stuff, makes it sound like Apollo is Luke Skywalker. The story is pretty simple their still looking for earth. The Commander Cain returns but I disagree with how they handle the character, its lot different then the one in the tv show. Cain is the tv show was brash, confident and genius, in the book he is the reverse. Hatch could have explored or add more detail to explain it but the characters lack any depth. Hatch and Golden never explore in any detail the relationships except for the characters Dalton and Troy (Starbucks and Apollo kids). I wanted to learn more about Apollo and Sheba relationship. Another problem is that secondary characters (Boomer, Charlie, Baltar) come and go so fast you have no idea why bother have them in the story. Hatch and Golden need to focus more on story and characterization, plus get off the Kobolin or Caperica race thing. Its to similar to Star Wars and the Jedi Knights. I hear a third book is coming so maybe, third one will be the charm. I really want to like the books, but its falling short. I really can't recommend it, maybe the new TV show by Bryan Singer will flesh out the show to the new audience.
