This was the first Batwoman collection I haven’t loved and it boils down to J.H. Williams not doing the artwork. While Amy Reeder and Trevor McCarthy do a fine job it pales in comparison to Williams’ work. I really did like the use of abstract panel layouts which Williams is known for but the pencils themselves were lacking. This story was also the first I really noticed the absence of Batwoman’s creator Greg Rucka. While Williams and Haden do a decent job the dialogue seems less fresh and the plot is pretty convoluted. Overall, the story and art are okay but not awe-inspiring as the book has been in the past.
