    I Also Recommend:

If you are interested in learning the whats, whys, and hows of the historical Cuban-American event known as The Bay of Pigs, look no further, this is the Book to-be-read: A detailed first hand account by the protagonists of the invasion.

I strongly recommend this history book for its completeness, faithfulness to the facts and for its ease of reading. Most history books or writings on the Bay of Pigs address the macro facts only, one more incident of the Cold War between the US-Kennedy and Russia-Kruschev geopolitical struggle for world prestige and influence, this time with Cuba for background. These writings totally neglect the human drama and the immediate actors behind the Bay of Pigs Action that answer the multiple questions as to WHY the invasion happened, What was the incentive for those who participated in this tragedy and finally, What was lost by allowing it to fail; this is, after all, what makes history an interesting, fascinating and absorbing narrative. With the loss of Cuba, the most pro-American bastion in Latin America, the world prestige of our country began its decline and the Monroe Doctrine ceased to exist in the Americas.
