Overview

One was a foreigner and a peasant. The other, a reluctant queen married to a man she hardly knew. But their stories have one thing in common: a remarkable faith committed to doing God's will.

For both Ruth and Esther, God used stressful circumstances to bring about His eternal purposes. Ruth's commitment to the God of Naomi affected every generation to come, as she became an ancestor of King David and, more important, Jesus Christ. Esther's obedience led to the preservation of her people at a moment in history when all seemed lost.

These stories will make you contemplate, Would I trust God enough do to what they did? As you read, ask yourself how God wants to use your faithful commitment. And in so doing, allow beloved author and Bible teacher Warren W. Wiersbe to help you be prepared and be committed to doing God's will no matter what the cost.

    MUST READ COMMENTARY!!!!

Ruth is one of my all time favorite books in the Bible! I have read it at least 6 times and had even adapted it into a mini-script for one of my classes. When my small group leader said we were doing this book as our curriculum, I was excited. However, I had no idea that I was going to be blown away by the commentary Mr. Wiersbe offers!!! Never really officially reading through Ester before, but knowing her story, this commentary and though-provoking questions really took the only two books of the Bible named after women to a whole other level that I never expected! Great for new believers!
