About the Author

Kait Parrish is a North Carolina native born and raised in the small town of Hickory. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at East Carolina University in the field of Recreational Therapy, and then went on to complete her Associate's degree in Nursing at Watt's School of nursing. Kait was an emergency department nurse at Duke University before deciding to be a stay-at-home mom to her daughter Addison who was born at twenty-four weeks gestation. While in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit for eight months Kait enjoyed reading many different books to her daughter. Addison has multiple medical issues, and Kait felt like there weren't many books that focused on diversity and inclusion. Once home, Kait decided to write her first children's book based around children with many different medical conditions. This book is wonderful for parent's of children with medical needs, and also parents of children without medical needs. It can be a great teaching tool to show others what inclusion really looks like. Kait is thrilled to invite you to purchase a copy of her book, and she hopes you will find comfort and peace in the words and illustrations that are so beautifully depicted on each page.
