Like Sony's 2012 collection Be My Baby: The Girls of the Sixties, Be My Baby, Vol. 2 is a three-disc set that collects hits that span the decade and range across many genres of music while creating a fun and educational picture of the era in the U.S. and the U.K. The set includes country artists like Tammy Wynette ("Stand by Your Man"), soul belters like Etta James ("At Last"), girl groups like the Crystals and Marvelettes, and pop singers like Gale Garnett ("We'll Sing in the Sunshine"). Apart from folk, just about every kind of popular music is represented and the songs chosen are all solid examples of the best female-sung music to be found during the decade. Pairing this up with the first volume would be a near-perfect entry-level crash course to the pop music of the 1960s, female division.
