I loved the cover of the book and how I was immediately drawn in to the Mayer’s family at Nate’s wedding. The family bonds were strong and there was laughter, heartache, sorrow, happiness, friends reunited, family, friends, romance, love and a happily ever after. Tali (love Nathalie’s nickname) had a lot to deal with in her life – her business, her health issues and an old boyfriend returning back home that she hadn’t seen or heard from in six years. Evan and Tali had chemistry as soon as they met up again – even though they both fought it – and Polly, his daughter, was an intriguing six year old that seemed wise beyond her years. It was fun to watch them work through their issues after being apart for so many years. Polly and Tali hit it off immediately and I could feel the bonds of friendship and more drawing them in no matter how much Tali tried to fight it. There was a lightheartedness to the story even though it dealt with several more somber topics.

This was another enjoyable read written by Nell Dixon whose stories engage me immediately and don’t let me go until I turn the last page. Although not listed as a series, Nathalie’s brother Jerome’s story is told in Dangerous to Know and her twin Nate’s story is told in The Cinderella Substitute. I couldn’t find if there were other connected stories or not but there ARE two additional brothers. I look forward to reading the other connected stories and enjoyed the excerpt of Dangerous to Know in the back of the book. Give her books a try if you haven’t already. You’ll be glad you did!

Favorite Quote: Something had changed while he’d been away, and while he was prepared to own a portion of the blame for the hurt he’d caused her, there had to be something else going on. Something he didn’t know about. Whatever the mystery was, he was determined to solve it.

Though this story is short, their romance doesn't come quickly.

Though this story is short, their romance doesn't come quickly. Sure, the feelings came on quick... actually the feelings never left, but  both of them are carrying their own set of issues. They will either let these things make them or break them. You'll have to read it to find out which. Be My Hero by Nell Dixon was provided to me by the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.

    Review:

"Be My Hero" by Nell Dixon was a good read that had a real subject that was address: 'Fertility.' We find that Natalie is thirty struggling with fertility medical problems. Natalie is not only facing health problems but after Evans enters her life again only left with her world turned.. .only to find out that this isn't the end of the story....more secrets. I felt this author did a good job at bringing the story out to the readers. This was definitely a warm touching romance with a poignant subject and was a good read that I would recommend.
