Overview

Discover your passion.
Change the world!

Watch the news and you'll find plenty of things wrong with our planet—homelessness, hunger, global warming, AIDS ... the list goes on and on. What could one teenager possibly do about them? Plenty. Just ask Zach Hunter, a modern-day abolitionist who is proving that one person— yes, you!—can make a difference.

There are more people bound in slavery now than at any time in history. Since the age of twelve, Zach has worked to free these men, women, and children who are being held against their will. He's even found some friends in the fight, including Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and Leeland Mooring of Leeland. In this newly updated and expanded edition of Be the Change, Zach features new stories of emerging abolitionists, provides updates on his organization, Loose Change to Loosen Chains, and shares practical advice to help you make revolutionary changes in the world.

    I Also Recommend:

27 Million. A number I will NEVER again forget.

I am 15 years old. I now want to change the world. After reading Zach's book I learned a lot more than I have ever known before...about myself or the world. 27 Million is the minimum number of people in slavery, TODAY. There are kids, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters in slavery. Slavery today has nothing to do with ethnicity. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

    It is even in America.

Today, 14,500 to 17,500 people are illegally traded (like drugs or weapons, they are treated like cargo) into the USA. That is foreign people being sold into our country.

ALSO, get this, not all the people in slavery are foreign. MANY are Americans. American teenage girls are at EXTREMELY high risk for internet predators, right? Well, did you ever think that they were also under risk for being sold?

This is an awful thing! What this book talks about, however, isn't how awful it is. He explains how you can change the world, by simply being you. You don't have to buy a billion things or go to a different country to help out. Just stay where you are and live your life, but still change the world.

I recommend this book because it let's you be you. But YOU can change the world.

BE THE CHANGE CHANGED MY LIFE

If there is one thing teens are experts on, its complaining. We promise to do something good, someday. Zach Hunter challenges us to do that something today! Find something we're passionate about, and do something to make a change for the better. He believes that our generationbis the one that will end the tragedies of the world: modern-day slavery, child-trafficking, etc. He inspires his readers to get to work and do something to make a change, today.
