Overview

At times we all feel frustrated, stressed, or out of control. What if you could be at your best when your challenges are on the rise? Well, you can. Be the Hero introduces us to the way of the “Everyday Hero” and shows how to turn self-defeating thoughts and behaviors into heroic actions.

All day long, without even realizing it, we tell ourselves dozens of stories—about other people, our situations, and ourselves—stories that shape our emotions and behavior. These stories are so powerful, they make us think and act like either a hero or a victim. Be the Hero shows you how to choose the stories that lead to personal and professional success.

In the tradition of the best storytellers, Noah Blumenthal weaves a tale of a young professional’s journey from victim to hero, one that is both captivating and profound. The powerful resources at the end of the book, including a hero tip of the week, smart cards, manager tip sheets, and more, will help you make your hero stories stick.

    Inspiring!

I carry Noah's Be the Hero card in my wallet to occasionally reflect on the person that I want to be. It's too easy to get disallusioned and be negative in today's world. I always want to see how I can help, take action and feel hope. A great approach to life that will make you feel good.

    Must Read

I thoroughly enjoyed reading be the hero by Noah Blumenthal. The book made me really think about how I was handling everyday situations. I think that we all spend time being the victim in our lives and this book really helps you shed some light on your everyday reactions.
I look forward to any book that Noah might write in the future.

    An Essential Read

I love this book! I am an educator, coach and psychology practitioner and cannot remember the last time that I read a book that is as applicable to the work of helping people uncover their best lives.

This is a deceptively simple book. Noah takes the best tenets of positive psychology; empathy, gratitude and hope and through the fine use of allegory makes them easy to digest and practice. In addition, the level of humility with which this book is written helps the reader really appreciate that this is a powerful work of love and not just a quickly created "just add water" book on wellbeing.

Once I finished my first read through I immediately bought copies and sent them to family and friends. We have only begun to ponder the uses of this work. It is applicable to adults, children, the workplace and schools.
Every now and then a book comes along that changes lives and this is one of them.

    An essential read.

    more from this reviewer

Read 'Be the Hero' by Noah Blumenthal and become a catalyst for positive change

Not only is Noah Blumenthal an effective speaker but he is also a great storyteller. His latest book, 'Be the Hero', will change your outlook on life. You will instantly see yourself in Jeff, the main character, and begin changing the stories you tell (your thoughts) to effect positive life changes. Buddha said, "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become."

I believe in the power of this little book and would say..

Noah Blumenthal's book, 'Be the Hero' + open heart and mind = WORLD PEACE. It's possible.

We all have the power to be a hero in our own way. Read the book and see how.

    Be the Hero

I really loved this book! Blumenthal's main idea is to live life with empathy, gratitude and hope in the forefront and not allow ourselves to wallow in negative stories that drain us of energy and spirit. It is easy to be negative, to find a reason not to do anything, not to act. But, isn't it more beneficial to be positive, to let go of unproductive and controlling anger and negative thoughts? To be mindful of others' situations, to be grateful for what we have, and to be positive about the future allows us to move and to take needed steps for healthy change. His inspirational message is easily accessible to all readers because of the parable format, and the book is not preachy. He has something to share, an important idea that can benefit anyone who reads this book. The message here is one that is applicable to all walks of life, all ages, and all professions. I highly recommend it.
