Overview

In this sexy and spellbinding original short story, available exclusively as an eBook, bestselling author H. P. Mallory presents the exciting Underworld from a never-before-seen point of view—through the eyes of Rand Balfour, a drop-dead gorgeous warlock and the love of Jolie Wilkins’s life.

While the undead wage a brutal civil war, Rand Balfour has only one thing on his mind: protecting his true love, Jolie Wilkins, the savvy and spirited witch whose powers have made her the toast—and target—of the new Underworld order.

For Rand, keeping Jolie safe means guarding against allies and enemies alike. First there’s Sinjin Sinclair, a dangerously seductive vampire who has his fangs set on Jolie, and who Rand suspects of harboring a sinister agenda. Then there are the factions of supernatural creatures causing chaos at every turn. But most shocking is Rand himself, whose wild desire for Jolie may put her very life at risk. Torn between his duty and his passion, Rand must summon all his strength to withstand temptation, even if it costs him the one woman he cannot bear to lose.

Follow more of Rand and Jolie’s electrifying paranormal romance in this eBook’s special bonus: a thrilling excerpt from H. P. Mallory’s next novel, Witchful Thinking.

read Dec. 12, 2011 I had of course heard that Be Witched was told in Rand's point of view and was excited to see a new scene through his eyes, so I was very surprised to find that this was only Rand's point of view of the night he and Jolie almost bonded. So you get nothing new from this book. It's like Midnight Sun is to Twilight. Yes, it was nice to read it in Rand's point of view, but what was the point? Why rewrite that specific chapter in Rand's point? I actually though it made Rand sound whiny and insecure actually. In the 50 pages, he's always jealous of Sinjin and worry about others with Jolie. Out of H.P's two series, this is my favorite one and I'm ready for the fourth book. Unfortunately this didn't help my craving. I've been reading a few novellas here recently and they've all been just a small extra plot not in the main book, not a retelling.

If you ever wanted to know what was going though the mind of a very sexy warlock then you should really read this one! H.P. once again give her readers what they really want, some time with Rand! Interesting idea, some repeat information but it truly gives the reader a new perspective to the moment. Even if you are team Sinjin give it a shot it won't bite, though that might be want your looking for ;)

This book was pretty good, though I agree with others that Rand had already seemed very transparent in the other books, so there wasn't much of a surprise here. I did like the discussion between Sinjin and Rand before Jolie was bitten, though. I wish that it had been longer and had included information from Sinjin and Rand's past, as well as continued further into the battle, rather than just stopping where it did.

I really like the series, however, just a warning that it is two chapters from a previous book and one new chapter. Hardly worth paying for...even if it's only 99cents. Other authors give sneak peeks (a chapter or so) for free in other books. Even if it is told from another point of view, it's disappointing. Don't bother...just wait for the new book.

I ran out of books, and while I am waiting for the other bought this just to keep reading. It was hard to read because I had already read the books, so it was just rereading again.

Loved loved loved hearing the story from Rand's point of view. Maybe we could hear from Sinjin one day? These characters seem so real for a fantasy novel, one can't help but want to know more.

This is a short story about Jolie Wilkins, Rand Balfour, Sinjin Sinclair and the underworld was that they a part of. This story is written with the point of view of Rand. All Rand wants is to keep Jolie safe. I really enjoyed this story because it is how Rand sees his relationship and the events that surround Jolie. I was very pleased to know what he was thinking during a very hot love scene and why he behaved the way he did. I recommend this book as well as the entire Jolie Wilkins series and the Dulcie O’Neil series

A Novella from Rand's POV - it's interesting to see what he tries so hard to hide from Jolie and also more interesting to see and understand his interactions with Sinjin - to finally see where some of the hostility is coming from - although sooo many secrets still remain hidden! This needs to be expanded on!! Like Twilight's Midnight Sun - it will leave you needing more!

This Novella of Jolie Wilkins story of her life is ok, if you don't want to read all 5 books. It is like a Reader's Digest version, but if you have the time, reading all 5 books of this series will keep you in suspense book by book.

4 stars WORTH READING... Total Pages: 58; Story Pages: 43 This one is basically the same thing from part of book 2 "Toil and Trouble." It is the part in the book where Jolie & Rand almost bond, only this version is told from Rand's point-of-view instead of from Joilie's point-of-view.
