Overview

Adam James is so far in the closet he could find Narnia. But coming out would threaten all he's built as the attorney for the homophobic WMA Development, and the million-dollar paycheck waiting for him once they push their big land development deal through the city council. Then, on an early morning scuba dive, Adam meets a tall, lean rebreather diver named Sky who makes him want to live a different life.

Sky Sea Mickeljohn doesn't compromise. He knows what he stands for and stands for it openly: the environment, world peace, and being gay. So how could he find himself lusting after a damned developer? Especially the one working on the WMA land development deal, which would put thousands of people at risk by developing a toxic waste site they have neither the capital nor the know-how to clean up? And worse, what's going to happen when someone opens Adam's closet door?

Meet the Author

Tara Lain never met a beautiful boy she didn’t love—at least on paper. A writer of erotic romance, mostly ménage and male/male, Tara loves all her characters, but especially her handsome heroes. A lifelong writer of serious non-fiction, Tara only fell in love with EROM in 2009 and, through perseverance and lots of workshops, had the first novel she ever wrote published in January of 2011. Then she capped off the year by being voted Best Author of 2011 in the LRC Awards and had her Genetic Attraction Series named runner-up for Best Series of 2011! A very good year.
After an exotic life of travel all over the world and work in television, education and advertising, Tara settled in Southern California with her soul-mate husband and opened her own small marketing business. She paints, collages, and started practicing yoga “way before it was fashionable.” Passionate about diversity, justice, inclusion and new ideas, she says on her tombstone it will read, “Yes.”

Sexy, sexy! The instant chemistry is blazing, and the initial anonymity adds a naughty feeling just as it adds mystery and suspense. I love the fun parts from Sky’s grand entrance on the beach to the teasing Adam gets from his friend. I was smiling and laughing right along with the characters.

When they meet again, discovering just who the other is, I was already so attached to “them” that my heart broke at the anger and distrust that evolved in that instant. Their struggle through the conflict, and of course the resolution, is oh so satisfying both for Adam’s heart and Sky’s cause. My favorite part might just be the final reunion scene, underwater fun followed by a very different take on the phrase “sit down, you’re rockin’ the boat” *grin*.

Another steamy installment in the Balls to the Wall series, Beach Balls is again story of sticking to your beliefs and being proud of who you are. Tara Lain never fails to deliver delicious M/M romance, and this time she’s done so with a sexy lawyer and a bold environmental activist. It’s worth adding to your TBR list; you won’t be disappointed!

Heading back to the beach in Beach Balls, Tara Lain transports the reader back to Laguna Beach and the surrounding area. She truly paints a picture of what it would be like to live there and experience the atmosphere. We see old friends and meet new people all while following Adam and Sky through the difficult time they have trying to decide if they can put their differences aside and make it work. It was nail biting and heart retching at times and I even found a tear forming once or twice.

Once again Tara grabbed my heart with her beautiful words and her ability to reach out and wrap the reader in the story she is telling.

It's always a pleasure to read her works.
