Beach Volleyball is a relatively recent Olympic Sport, having been held for the first time at the Atlanta games in 1996. Young readers wishing to learn more about Beach Volleyball and perhaps compete in the sport would not turn to this title for instruction. What young readers do gain from this installment of Sports Illustrated Kids' "Victory School Superstars" series adventure, featuring ten year old basketball whiz Tyler Trofee, is the importance of paying attention when learning a new sport, being a team player, and knowing when it is the right time for a practical joke. The cartoon illustrations by Jorge Santillan are colorful and have a lot of action. The twelve-word glossary contains no words that apply to the sport of Volleyball. There is an illustrated Beach Volleyball in History timeline and a listing on the back page for the capstonekids.com website where more games, contests and puzzles can be found. Each book in the series has an i.d. number that correlates to the site as well. Reviewer: Debra Lampert-Rudman
