    Terrific story-

One of my favorites by MacLean, I'm glad to see this back in print. The story is a nice twisty tale of a movie crew on a lonely desolate island. Lots of murder, greed and dark secrets emerge. Unfortunately, given todays society of cell phones and laptops, the story itself will seem a bit dated. Read it for the period piece it is and you will enjoy it. I'll call it 4 stars and add one for nostalgia value for me.

    Bear Island

I loved this book. The main character "Doc" was riveting and so very intelligent. It was non-stop action and after I read it my husband read it and also raved about it.

    Brrrr!

Set in the freezing cold of Bear island in the Arctic Circle, this is a very well wrtten mystery that is very reminiscent of some of Agatha Christie's books. Well worth reading!

    Great yarn

Bear Island has been one of my MacLean keepers for over 30 years. The mystery is compelling and you really can't quite figure out the murder until the end
