Nikolina Aasen’s lived a lonely life as a single were-bear female with no compatible mate in their small clan. But when she shows signs of going into heat, her clan decides they need to pick a man who can sire her child.

Nikolina has other ideas, though. She’s thinking of someone tall, dark and handsome…who disappeared sixteen years ago.

Leif Ludvik left the bear clans behind to go totally, completely wild and bury his grief. He’s been hiding out in bear-form for so long that he hardly remembers who – and what – he is. When Nikolina finds him, she’s determined to make the sexy beast her mate no matter the cost…

But will seducing Leif get her the family she's always wanted...or destroy both of their lives?

    Enjoy reading

This was a good short story. (90 pages). I enjoyed this story, wish JS had written the story as a full length novel but still very good read. Yes--I caught the naked in the sleeping bag during the cabin scene and then a little bit later in same scene him helping her remove "clothes" she didn't have on earlier in same scene--LOL. Still didn't matter book was still very good ---putting in my library and will re-read--I re-read most all my books later. (There's always something missed the first, second, third--etc. Time around). Happy Reading!

    more from this reviewer

This is a short sweet PNR that takes place in the world of Jessi

This is a short sweet PNR that takes place in the world of Jessica Sims Midnight Liaisons but has nothing to do with the dating service. It can be read as a standalone .  Bear shifters aren’t like the other clans.  They are ruled with an iron paw by the council of elders.  The plans they are making for Nikolina fit into the category of “Oh Hell NO!” so despite being a “good girl” she takes off to find a better solution.  When she finds Leif hiding away on a lonely island she isn’t prepared for the way he makes her feel.  And when the council disapproves of her solution she will need to choose between the life she has always known or the werebear she has come to love.  Fans will love this short interlude while waiting for the next full length book to come out.

    Excellent novella

I really like how this series is expanding. Good interesting plot. Great characters and a nice tie in with the rest of the series.

    Ok...

Decent book, had inconsistencies within...clothes off in one paragraph and then magically clothed in the next. The overbearing clan was a bit much as was the dutiful 26 year old who let her father control her life. The main character is supposed to be brave and spirited and yet is allowing her life to be controlled. Overall an OK book for $.99.
