Overview

This vintage book contains Hector Hugh Munro’s 1914 collection of short stories, "Beasts and Super-Beasts". One of Munro’s most famous works, it was his last collection of stories before this death during the First World War. A fantastic anthology of masterful short stories, this volume is highly recommended for fans of the genre, and is not to be missed by collectors of Munro’s wonderful work. The stories of this collection include: “The She Wolf”, “Laura”, “The Boar-Pig”, “The Brogue”, “The Hen”, “The Open Window”, “The Treasure Ship”, “The Cobweb”, “The Lull”, “The Unkindest Blow”, “The Romancers”, “The Seventh Pullet”, and many more. Hector Hugh Munro (1870 - 1916), widely known by his pseudonym, Saki, was a British writer who wrote humourous, witty, and often macabre stories that satirize Edwardian society. Many antiquarian texts such as this are increasingly hard to come by and expensive, and it is with this in mind that we are republishing this book now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition. It comes complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.

If you can put up with the weird spelling it's not bad. It uses very odd combinations to represent letters that should be used. For example u in place of ll, but just when you think you've cracked the code it changes and you're back at square one. For instance, I came across this word "pajdng." Now what the hell is that? The closest I can come is maybe, paying, but who knows.
