    MTEL Foundations of Reading!!

I can not possibly rate this book any more highly. I'm a career changer, and knew NOTHING about this topic at all. On a wing and a prayer, this is the only book I used, and I got a 95. Yes, that's right, most people fail this test first time out, and I got a 95. I'm not that smart. This book has EVERYTHING you need. Use it as your bible.

    Excellent RICA prep!

When I took the RICA in February of 2004, I was a secondary education credential candidate with only one class in reading instruction behind me, and much of the information in this book was new to me. However, intensive study using 'Beating Them All..', enabled me to pass the RICA on my first attempt. 'Beating Them All..', accurately identifies the knowledge base required to pass the RICA. It offers excellent preparation strategies for the multiple choice and case studies portions of the test, and provides invaluable time management strategies. Using these strategies, I came into the test knowing exactly how much time to allot for each section, and which sections to do first in order to maximize my points. I was familiar with the vocabulary used in the test, I thoroughly understood each domain, and I knew what the test readers would be looking for in the written portion of the test. Having a plan, and knowing what to expect on the test helps one to approach the test with confidence, and reduces the element of surprise that triggers test anxiety in many of us. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who must take the RICA.

CSU Stanislaus Graduate Student Says, 'USE THIS TEXT!'

The text written by Dr. Boosalis is well planned, thought out and executed. After losing to the RICA exam on my first attempt, Dr. Boosalis' book came to the rescue prior to my second and successful effort. I utilized the exquisite content and chose a crafty game plan that best suited my needs; one of many offered at the close of the text. I applaud Dr. Chris Nicolas Boosalis for his tireless efforts to aid future teachers like myself throughout the Nation. THANK YOU!

    A FANTASTIC BOOK!

This is the first useful book that I have come across to help me to pass the RICA test. It is very well written and covers all the RICA content information. I read and followed all the instructions, and it helped me immensely. I have personally experienced many struggles on passing this test. I took many workshops but English is my 3rd language and my results were always heartbreaking. I passed right away after reading this fantastic one book. It is worth much more than $14.00. Good Luck!

''Finally, a Book that Covers Rica!'

Beating Them All! Thirty Days to a Magic Score on Any Elementary Literacy Instruction Exam for Teacher Certification, undoubtedly has the most comprehendible study techniques essential for passing the Rica. This book allows you to focus and study the Rica's entire content with ease. It helped me focus more carefully on sections of the test I needed more practice in. It also contains a broad variety of visual study examples for those who are visual learners. Most important, Beating them All! Thirty Days.. Contains relevant Rica information that will get you results...Passing results. I strongly recommend Beating them All! Thirty Days...for anyone who is struggling in passing the Rica, or as a teaching aide.

The Best RICA Preparation Text Available

This book strips away all the unnecssary jargon and teaches you to write clear and focused case study responses--a huge part of passing the RICA. Dr. Boosalis focuses on the points the RICA evaluators are looking for and helps you organize your thoughts in the format the test requires. His section on multiple choice was also excellent. This book is much more focused and readable than the Zarillo book, Ready for RICA.

    'Finally a Cure'

I had taken the Rica four times prior to purchasing 'Beating Them All'. I passed the Rica on the fifth try and the only study method I used was 'Beating Them All'. This book covers every domain and area essential for passing the test. The main aspect for me, is the book was very easy to approach and comprehend. I've tried every method of studying, and this book by far out weighs them all. The strategies and techniques were easy to understand and very useful on the test. This book saved my career and sanity.
