Being an obsessive Beatles fan, I thought I had read every worthwhile book about the Beatles career, until I stumbled upon this gem. The Beatles, in their own words, compiled from interviews and press conferences with them and their handlers in a chronology of their career. Similar to the feel of the Anthology book, but from an "in the moment" perspective. You get a feel for how each individual member progressed, how the mania took its toll, and get great insight from the source about some of the songs that changed music history. Definitley worth including in the canon of "the best" books about the Beatles, right up there with Anthology, Hunter Davies, and Lewisson. If you obsess over the Beatles, you wont be able to put this book down.
