Beautiful Ballads

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Rob Theakston
This budget-line compilation features a series of sessions recorded from 1948 to 1952 with Doris Day backed by a wide array of arrangers and orchestras, but predominantly showcases her work with arranger George Siravo. Die-hard fans and casual listeners alike will find this an easily accessible set featuring Day's smooth, crisp voice over lush orchestration and soft melodies. And while the track selection isn't representative of her most well-known moments, that's a slight distraction easily overlooked by the inviting nature of Day's voice from start to finish.
