Overview

High-powered Boston attorney Emma Madison is celebrating her latest courtroom victory when she gets a call from a number she doesn't recognize. Area code 803—home.

Home is Juneberry, South Carolina—eight hundred miles, twelve years, and a lifetime away from Boston—and Emma's father has had a serious heart attack. Emma rushes to his bedside, and a weekend trip threatens to become an extended stay. She has to work fast to arrange the affairs of his small-town law practice so she can return to her life and career in Boston.

And then Michael Evans shows up. They'd shared hopes, dreams, and a passionate love as young college students during a long-ago summer. But Emma walked away—from Michael and from Juneberry—to finish college and start a new life. Michael has never forgotten her.

Enveloped in the warmth of family and small-town life—and discovering that she still cares for Michael—Emma knows she'll have to make a choice between the career she's worked so hard to build and the love she left behind.

The most redeeming quality of this book is the writing style of the author. The plot and characters are predictable but the  Author's presentation is a pleasant, easy read.

A BEAUTIFUL FALL is all about Emma. She is the hot shot attorney from Boston. She's got everything she wanted in life, until her phone rings. Turns out her father had a heart attack, and Emma must go down to Juneberry, the town she grew up in, and face her problems head on.... Only thing I that I felt this book was missing was the romance. You knew from the beginning that something would happen between Emma and Michael, but it took 200+ pages to get there. The only reason I kept reading was to see which country song the author put on the top of each chapter. There are a lot better romance Christian books out there then this.

¿A warm story about finding that there really is no place like home.¿
Emma Madison is at a crossroads in her life. She left home for Boston 12 years ago and became an attorney. She has what she thought she wanted until she is forced to return home to Juneberry, South Carolina.
On the day she wins her biggest court case, she receives a call that her father has suffered a heart attack and is in surgery. She runs home to be with him. While in Juneberry, she reunites with friends and the man she left behind when she abruptly ran to Boston. In the midst of dealing with her father¿s care, Emma begins to believe that she has more in Juneberry than she does in Boston.
God has brought Emma home, reuniting her with family and friends, to help her realize that what she really needs in her life is the life she left behind. In the midst of Emma¿s story, the lives of her friends also come alive. The reader becomes one of the family, peeking into all the nuances of a small-town life.
A Beautiful Fall is a refreshingly tender and a sweet story of true love and fulfillment.

Emma Madison left her hometown of Juneberry, South Carolina years ago to become a Boston attorney. Almost immediately following her greatest legal success, Emma learns her father suffered a major heart attack. She rushes home to be there with him at least for the weekend.------------- Upon seeing how feeble her dad looks, Emma knows she must stay longer to help him heal. However, Juneberry also means Michael Evans. They fell in love a dozen years ago, but she left for college and her law career while he never forgave or forgot her, the one who got away with his heart. Both quickly realizes what they felt as teens remains strong, but he is rightfully wary to grant her access to his heart while she must decide Juneberry or Boston.------------ Putting aside why he cannot make the decision between Juneberry and Boston, this is an engaging character study as the importance of God, family and friendship in one¿s life is critical for fulfillment. The cast is solid especially the lead couple as each seeks a modern day miracle or two. Fans of contemporary inspirational (without preaching) tales will enjoy Emma¿s tale that affirms you can go home.-------- Harriet Klausner

Reviewed by R. Goatley for ReviewYourBook.com This book is about all of our lives. It is about the choices we make, our dreams and the reality of what we have setting in front of us. How family, great friends, and especially God is the most important in our lives. Emma made a choice after graduating to move to a big city, become a lawyer, and leave her small town life behind her. After nine years, she had to go back, because her dad had a heart attack. She then sees what all she left behind. She falls in love with her high school sweetheart again, and old friendships are revived. These important people in her life also show her how important GOD is in all of their lives. After going back to the hectic big city life, she decides what the best is for her and goes home to stay. A Beautiful Fall is a great read. The characters are well developed. The plot draws the reader in. I could not put this book down. This will be a best seller.

Very predictable. Didn't think the writting style was very good; kind of like an amature. Some of the plots were very unbelieveable. A guy falls off a roof and almost dies on the operating table "a couple of times". Yet he's home 3 days later "bored a fidgetty". Really!?!
