"A Vampire on the Rue Mallarmé” is excerpted from Crash Dummies, my novel about the CIA, American exceptionalism, and H. N. Zicto’s rediscovery of the Maya secret of time travel in 1983. The other eight stories were all written since 2000.

Dennis Weiser’s articles, poems and stories have appeared in Chouteau Review, New Letters, Abramelin: The Journal of Poetry and Magick, p.r.n., Thorny Locust, Literary Juice, The Sixth Surface: Steven Holl Lights the Nelson-Atkins Museum,and several anthologies from Outrider Press. He has given readings at Duff’s Irish Pub and Venice Café in St. Louis, The K.C. Literary Festival, Barnes & Noble, Prospero’s Books and The World Longest Poetry Reading in Kansas City. Former regular columnist for The Kansas City Business Journal and book reviewer for NPR affiliate KCUR-FM in Kansas City, Missouri, he is currently writing his third novel, a mystery thriller set against the backdrop of Dutch colonial exploitation of Java in 1879. He is a member of the Academy of American Poets.
