Beautiful Oblivion:

It was supposed to be just for the summer...

Some people just don't belong together, or at least that's what the world would have them believe.

Reese Westfield comes from a world of old money, country clubs, cotillions, and expensive cars. She's tired of dating Warren McCarthy just to make her father happy. Reese has long since had her eye on someone else, and this summer she's determined to make it happen.

Growing up in Lake Loveless there has always been a strict monetary divide-there was the rest of the Lake and then there were the Waterman's. Ace Waterman has worked for everything he has, and he doesn't have a lot. He breaks his back doing grunt work while putting himself through college. He's used to life passing him by.

Reese has loved Ace from afar for as long as she can remember. The summer of her freshman year she comes home with plans to land Ace in her bed at least for a few short weeks, and, if she's lucky, forever.

Ace has loved Reese for as long as he can remember, but their friendship has never graduated beyond platonic, so when Reese comes home from her first year away and proposes the two of them have a summer fling, Ace is quick to comply. The rules: no strings, no expectations, just something hotter than the sun to set the sheets on fire.

But when their worlds collide, and neither of them is willing to admit to having true feelings, it becomes clear to Ace he's nothing more than a dirty little secret-that the summer fling was just something meaningless to pass the time.

Reese wonders if she can ever stop trying to please her father, and it's only through her mother's letters that she finds the answers she truly seeks, but will they be the ones she wants to hear?

As summer draws to a close, Ace and Reese are still very much enraptured even though the time has come to douse the flame and move on-but neither one of them is prepared to leave this BEAUTIFUL OBLIVION.

    Reality in fantasy

FINALLY a book that isn't about a possessive billionaire! This book hits more on the reality side. The characters are believable, and it has a great storyline. Two people that society didn't think should be together find love -real love. I could relate to this book in many ways. I'm not one for spilling the story in a review, but i would definately suggest it to anyone who likes a genuine romace novel. I loved it!

    FREAKIN WOW!

I loved, loved, loved this book. Reese drove me up the wall with her indecision between Warren and Ace. As far as I'm concerned it was a no brainer. Tell Warren to hit the road and Ace to love you forever. The chemistry between Reese and Ace is off the charts HOT! Ace is the perfect boyfriend. Caring, gentle, kind, generous, loving, romantic, strong, protective and beautiful inside and out deep to his soul. Warren is a dick plan and simple. Lol. Reese is sweet and beautiful but she has no back bone. I highly recommend this book to everyone. At times I was laughing so hard tears were blurring my vision. Reese's best friend Brylee is a hoot. At times I cried. My heart broke for Reese. This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last.

    Ruined

This was cut with funny parts. The writing and editing was superb - over 500 pages. What absolutely without a doubt ruined this book for me was Reese. Every time it was from her pov she comes across as self-assured and confident - yet she's too darned dumb to realize what she's doing to Ace? Really? Not once did she think hey I love this guy and my non-relationship, which is actually a relationship, with Warren is hurting him. Fraking idiot. I almost stopped reading when the NY scene happened. I was so irked at her! It's really hard to live a book when the main lady is such a freaking clueless idiot and the main man allows all the emotional abuse because he gets to have a small part of her.

I really liked the book for the most part. It was different from what we read so often. I did however get tired of Reese being an idiot. Sorry, but no 20 yr old, virgin or not, is that stupid when it comes to a relationship. Or her non relationship as she defined it. Ace deserved better.

Never write book reviews, but had to with this one!

I loved this book! It was a seemingly common plot with an agreement between the 2 main characters to have a "no strings, no emotions" summer fling. What each character didn't know was that they both loved each other since they were kids. The story being told from both points of view really narrated the angst between Ace and Reese...she didn't want to tell Ace about her feelings because she didn't want to scare him off...he didn't want to tell Reese because he never thought he was good enough for her. So, both enter into a fling because each is willing to take what they can get, even if is only 1 stolen summer. The theme of misunderstood feelings gave the book a similar tone to Jamie McGuire's Walking Disaster. Again, loved this book!
