Deadly Witchcraft. Ghostly Threats. Doomed Romance.

They say every town has its secrets, but that doesn't even begin to describe Fallen Oaks. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witch's curse.

When sixteen-year-old Shiloh Trudell-a hereditary witch from the Broussard family-takes a summer job at Craven Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. That's where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan, and immediately becomes enchanted by his charms.

Finally, Shiloh's met someone who is supercute and totally into her, but Trent is immersed in the cunning deception that surrounds the mysterious Craven Manor. So much so that he may lose sight of what is truly important to him. And she can't decide whether she wants to shake him or kiss him. Yet neither one of them can deny the immediate, passionate connection growing between them.

But underlying everything is the fear that Trent may be the next victim on a supernatural hit list, and Shiloh is the only person with the power to save him...

With cryptic messages from a pesky wraith, Shiloh will finally begin to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist and decide how much she's willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.

Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.

"Eerie, humorous, and romantic, Beautifully Broken is a potent story about young witch Shiloh and the curse that threatens her town. Highly entertaining, I would definitely recommend this to any fan of YA paranormal romance!"

"...Overall, a fun, intense, super sexy read, that lovers of Paranormal Romance will devour! Trent was my kind of bad boy. I loved him from the start. And, can you say sexy? Soule has the sexy down. Shiloh and Trent’s relationship was steamy to the max. I had to reread moments between them, I just loved their banter and physical attraction. Major swoon. Was there some magical element driving them together? I can’t wait to find out. It definitely makes me want the next installment.

Great Paranormal Romance And Highly Recommended!

Fun, youthful, scary, chilling, suspenseful, and thrilling! A must read for sure! I am completely hooked on this author and her writing style. Beautifully Broken is the first of the Spellbound series and I am so going to be waiting very impatiently for every release! There is no doubt that Shiloh and Trent are the next hot couple. This is a great book! I absolutely loved Beautifully Broken and was blown away with Sherry's strong descriptive narration. Every chapter made me hunger for the next and it was an incredible richly written paranormal romance. Soule's writing technique is sharp and intense keeping the suspense properly in tact. The main character's fear is relevant, and I found my self riddled with emotions and concerns about what was in the scene and what was happening to Shiloh. I genuinely enjoyed every word! This is one of those YA books that I would highly recommend to anyone that loves reading, even those that do not normally pick up a paranormal. For YA and Paranormal Romance fans, this will shoot straight to the top of your favorites list, along with the entire Spellbound series.

    A Great YA Paranormal/Horror Romantic read~!!

Beautifully Broken is a YA Paranormal/Horror Romance.

Shiloh Ravenhurst is sixteen and is the town's "freak", especially with the weird "birthmark" on her wrist which she takes great consideration to keep covered and hidden. Her families past has haunted her most of her life with the townsfolk snickering and bullying. She has few friends and her parents seemingly uncaring and aloofness make them unapproachable.

Shiloh gets thru each day the best she can and from the moment she accepts the job at Ravenhurst Manor by her eccentric Uncle, her life begins to change. There she runs into many strange and unusual characters, some are helpful and some are quite vengeful, wishing to destroy Shiloh to keep the secrets hidden.

After meeting Trent, her heart begins racing every time she is near him, and the two begin a somewhat bumpy romance together. When the town's teens begin to go missing, Shiloh believes she can help, and in order to save her new found love, she begins to uncover the secrets of Ravenhurst, her family and all the townsfolk who have their own skeletons in the closet.

This was a really good YA paranormal read, witches are always great to read about. Magic can be used in some very interesting applications and Sherry Soule didn't fail to impress me. It had enough mystery and innuendos to keep reading and turning the pages, the secrets that everyone seems to be a part of was interesting and the overall outcome was exactly as it should have turned out.

I did find Trent and Shiloh's back and forth attitude with one another a bit annoying, but it was well played out even if you were screaming in frustration at their lack understanding about how the other truly felt. I was also annoyed that everyone in town seemed to know what was going on but Shiloh remained clueless until she decided to investigate. These two aspects are minor in the overall of the book though and you will find enjoyment within these pages.

However, the most enjoyment you will find will be reading about the Ravenhurst Manor itself. With all its haunted appeal, quirky ghosts and a great backstory that you cannot help hoping you will get to read more. I think the author could probably do a whole series about this Manor and make a lot of folks happy with the works. If some of you are easy to scare, you may find some creepiness within the pages, all done in a tasteful and readable manner, which will also bring you much delight.

    A wonderfully creepy YA romance!

This is a wonderful YA book! Beautifully Broken is the first book in Sherry Soule's Spellbound series. The story follows Shiloh, a 16 year-old witch who is just learning about her powers. Not only is she dealing with that, but she also has the unfortunate ability to see ghosts and demons. She lives in the very creepy town of Whispering Pines, where people just mysteriously vanish.

My favorite thing about this book was the romance that develops between Shiloh and Trent. They just have this connection, and they were instantly attracted to each other. That passion was definitely sizzling. I think the relationship was realistic though. There were awkward moments, sweet moments, passionate moments, and there were also times where they would argue. Their relationship felt very natural and not forced at all.

I really liked Shiloh, she's had a hard life. A lot of things happen in this book that most teenagers wouldn't be able to handle. She troops through it all though. She is brave, selfless, and snarky. She's a character that I think a lot of teens can look up to.

I thought the writing in this book was great. The book kept me hooked, I didn't want to put it down. There were so many events and emotions going on. The book was very mysterious, and definitely had a creepy factor going on. It might be something you won't want to read right before bed if you have an overactive imagination when the lights go out like I do. There were some very sad moments as well, but the sweet romance gave the book good balance. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in ghosts, witchcraft, paranormal, etc... Sherry Soule has an enthusiastic new fan and I'm dying to read the next book in this series!

Review originally posted at Romancing the Book

Being the thirteenth daughter has some serious drawbacks for Shiloh Ravenwolf, especially in the darkness. From the beginning of this story, the descriptions of the creatures that haunt Shiloh were incredibly descriptive and reading this book at night had me jumpy. Shiloh knows that she has the potential to force the dark creatures away, sort of like going to her happy place in her mind, but over time, her ability to do that just isn’t working. Her parents aren’t much help. Her Mom’s self-centered and her dad is caring but not overly involved. She has relatives who might be able to help but they’ve been missing from her life for years. Friends can’t help because they don’t really understand either.

As teenagers start to disappear from the small town, rumors are rampant that it has something to do with the return of a local family who own a home that is supposedly haunted. Shiloh is fascinated with old home architecture and applies to be an intern at the home in question, which also happens to be the home of a hot teenage boy. Things are happening in the home, though, bad things.

As a flirty romance starts between Shiloh and the hot boy, she’s befriended by someone who helps her discover what her true purpose is and how to harness her power as a witch and fight the demons that plague her town. What he can’t help her with is what troubles her the most. Why are her relatives arguing when they do meet? Where are the teenagers disappearing to? Why does the suicidal scar on her arm throb at times?

A good read with many twists and turns for fans of young adult paranormal with a touch of romance. Book two, Moonlight Mayhem, released on July 3, 2012.

Favorite Quote: “For as long as I could remember, I’d heard whispers in the shadows. Dark, twisting shapes that chilled my blood. Slithering through night, the images flickered, green skin, crimson eyes, sharp claws illuminated even in the dark. Sunlight meant the difference between life and death.” Page 1

    Mysterious & Exciting

This was a very interesting read. It was full of mystery and adventure. The witches were a unique blend of modern Wiccan and ancient witchcraft. It was quite a journey for Shiloh as she began to realize she was much more than just the town weirdo. She is definitely different from other girls, but as she begins to accept the truth she realizes she may have gifts that make her strong & powerful enough to save others from the evil that lurks around Whispering Pines. There are lots of distractions, though, and one of those comes in the form of the gorgeous Trent Donovan- the town bad boy with the fast car & sexy eyes that just happens to live in a haunted house. There are plenty of surprise twists to keep you on your toes and the ending will leave you screaming for more!
