Beauty of Christmas

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
The Beauty of Christmas features a selection of 26 hymns and carols as performed by the London Festival Orchestra and the Ambrosian Singers. Not that all 26 songs are given the full treatment. All of the songs are performed in truncated form, which may frustrate certain listeners. Nevertheless, the different permutations of the orchestra and choir -- ranging from instrumentals to a cappella tracks -- keep the music varied and interesting. Listeners who want a far-reaching, cinematic traditional Christmas album that offers a wide array of sounds should be pleased with The Beauty of Christmas.
