The dynamic duo of Sherry North and Marcellus Hall team up once again to treat parents and children to a story that celebrates affection with imagination. Because I Am Your Daddy is a great read-aloud book at storytime or a soothing book at bedtime, and an ideal gift for new fathers on Father’s Day.

What would a father do to make his child's dreams come true? If he were a pilot, he could fly her to school. If he were a scientist, he could help her dig up the biggest dinosaur the world has ever known. If he were a surfer, he could take her on his board to ride the highest wall of water. If he were an explorer, he could guide her through the darkest cave. And if he were an inventor, he could build a high-tech tree house. Author Sherry North's flowing poetic text helps us to feel how a father measures his love for his daughter. The watercolor paintings by illustrator Marcellus Hall, though contemporary, have the feel of those wonderful children's picture books of the 1950s and allow the reader to visualize the loving bond between parent and child. North and Hall had previously collaborated on Because You Are My Baby, which won the NAPPA Gold Award for 2008. As a daddy myself, Because You Are My Daddy gets a high five from me.
