Overview

THE COMPLETE NOVEL—FIRST TIME IN PRINT

New York Times bestselling author Beth Kery ignites a red-hot romance like no other—where the rules of desire are broken, night after intoxicating night…

The moment Francesca and Ian met, the attraction was mutual, an exquisitely physical charge that ignited between them. To Ian, she was the kind of woman he couldn’t resist. She was a true innocent. To Francesca, he was the kind of man she feared and desired—dark, extreme, commanding, and forbidden. What happened between them couldn’t be ignored—only indulged, evolving into an inescapable bond.

From a private jet to an interlude in Paris, from a daring tryst in a public museum to the intimacy of a luxury hotel, Francesca and Ian come together whenever the need is aroused. But as their relationship grows more intense, Francesca discovers something about Ian—and herself—that forever changes the game and the players. It’s something they never expected, something that sends both their lives spinning deliriously out of control . . .

PEOPLE, 50 Shades of Grey IS A KNOCK OFF book born from the aut

PEOPLE, 50 Shades of Grey IS A KNOCK OFF book born from the author admittedly reading and writting fan fiction of other much better erotic novels. So many and I I would say most of the new fans of erotica cut their teeth unfortunately on one of the worst examples of erotica there could be. Do yourselves a favor and delve into some of the thousands of great titles and authors that started this industry. Do not use 50 Shades, as any sort of goal post or standard for what you think a good erotica is. It is by far one of the worst books on offer in its genre. It genuinely hurts my feelings to know that the 15 or so years many of us have spent trying to get the word out about the erotic genre, have failed if this is how you treat an author that came well before.

Many of us started reading erotic romance in all genre's be it fantasy, BDSM, western, historical, vampire, futuristic, etc. and can offer you much advice in what is good and what is not. It was to our complete astonishment that 50 Shades was ever published let alone found a playground amongst newbies. There are sites and blogs that have been around for years devoted to this genre. 50 Shades is a compilation of the many books one fan fiction writer decided to envelope into one book. In my opinion she stole most of her ideas from what was best in all the books she read. There is nothing new or original about 50 Shades. It is just new to the audience that simply took word of mouth publicity and made it into something it isn't.

I am frustrated, disgusted, aggravated, and deeply disappointed that this one book is how an entire genre' is to be viewed. The struggle of the hundreds of great authors that came before her are diminished as their books are compared negatively. How can an author who knows her genre, takes the time to create an original work, invests in the hard job of real research, ever be compared to an author who once read those books and used them to exploit her unoriginal work.

So, please in the future before you bash an author who was writing in this genre long before the 50 Shades "author" take the time to do your research.

This book and this author wasn't first and certainly was not better!

A QUICK ENTERTAINING READ BUT NOT HER BETTER WORK

It could be that I am jaded after reading 50 shades and too many knock off's like it so please keep that in mind. This is a spun out more of the same and the premise is starting to seem ridiculous even in fantasy world. A young virgin, gets deflowered, spanked and no bleeding or soreness to show for it as it happens multiple times in a span of hours. Then asks for seconds and thirds in the next 46 hours.
Ladies really???, As for men who can ejaculate that many times with seconds of recuperation in between truly a Ripley's Believe it or Not attraction!

Other than that I found myself thinking that if a male told me what to wear, eat, experience and barked at me at will, well lets just say if humanity depended upon my reproducing we would be extinct. No matter how you write it abuse of one's emotions and disrespect and at best rude is not the message we want females to fill their heads with as romantic. I have read Beth Kerry's work and purchased this book because I like her novels but she has sadly joined the ranks of selling out to this submissive-dominant theme in vogue at this time that has met its end with me. Why did I read it? Because I spent good money and it abates my cognitive dissonance. It is much like paying a ticket to a bad movie. You stay because it bothers you to throw away money twice.

Good Luck thinking this is passable literature. I gave 3 stars because I can not totally condemn a good writer on this book alone.

    Ugh

I want my money back, plus I want the time it took me to read this trash back. Never again will I buy her books. If i wanted to read a porno I would buy playgirl. This plot line sucks, the whole sequence of events leaves a lot to be desired. If you are interested in more then just pale comparisons to Fifty Shades of Grey, dont buy this book. It was a complete waste of time and money.

I almost didn't get this book because of the reviews that I read

I almost didn't get this book because of the reviews that I read here. It was a good book. Plain and simple. If you like erotic romance, I would recommend this in a second. If you do not know anything about this genre, research it before you judge. Do not call it porn. It is a work of FICTION. Enjoy the characters, enjoy the story. Thank the author for bringing you out of your mundane life for a short period of time. That is the magic of being a good author. Inside the pages of a book, you can lose yourself and wonder. That's the whole reason for reading, isn't it?

    My Review

I've been reading erotica for a while because it doesn't drive me for the sex but it does appeal to me because of the choices that are made and the barriers that are broken, freeing the mind and rewarding the body.

In "Because you Tempt Me" you get what I love in a story, the wakening of the senses, a craving that takes over the mind and a man that gets what he wants, and all the way challenging his own beliefs and life style. This is why I read Beth Kery, to see if she delivered what I look for in an erotica title, she did.

As far as the characters go, they perfectly fit the story and their relationship comes with pages and pages of a storm just waiting to happen. New experiences drive to feelings neither of them are used to and then they crash into each other's will's, Ian the need to control and Francesca the need to submit, throw into the equation love and all walls start to fall.

Ian is a man I could fall in love with, usually alone in his life path, mysterious in his ways, demanding in his sexual drive, he is almost irresistible to me. So well created, so well written, alluring me into his world and the big why's he's so wired up.
Francesca on the other hand, an almost innocent with a vision of beauty towards the world outside but so alone in her own way. The fact that her paintings are made of lonely and introspective people, alone with their own thoughts, searching for something that they really can't find, tells me that she is also searching for some meaning in her own life.

The passion that flares on first sight and burns through out the pages, the erotic interactions and the fight of wills that they put on play takes us to a hole new level of Dominant/Submissive relationships and the vision that I finish the book with is that love and pain walk hand in hand and thread in a very thin line.

This was the first book by author Beth Kerri that I read but I'll tell you, I'm moving on to the next just waiting for it to be as good as this one, and only better as a hole plot so that I can have a reading experience that walks the border of complicated but sated relationship, challenging, erotic and ultimately freeing.

First I've read the other reviews and most all compare to 50! You can't -  And I wish ppl would stop 50 was such trash, poorly written and that girl was an idiot.
For Beth Kerry's book - I read it as a complete novel but it took a month or more. Would not keep my interest. At first Francesca was standoffish but gave in way too quickly. Ian was dark and broody but not enough to think he was too broken. It was over all a nice story not very deep or meaningful with some BDSM but mostly just well done erotica sex.

    Dont waste your money

    ## WORST. HERO. EVER. Actually "hero" doesn't even apply. Ass*ole is more like it. I have never been this disappointed in a series. This guy was revolting. I have no problem with an alpha male who likes to take charge in the bedroom. That's hot. But Ian was a complete bas*ard. He insults the heroine over and over. Tells her she's a spoiled brat, such a complete child, calls her a fool. At one point he says: you have the mentality of a six year old. He repeatedly ignores her after sex and constantly disapears. He punishes her by paddling her until she can't sit for having any kind of opinion. He orders her around like a slave, what to wear, when to shower, when to eat....and dares to get mad when she wants to know anything about him. Several times during the sex scences I remember reading: he is not concerned with her pleasure, only his own. You will be available to me when I want, how I want, where ever I want! Me, me, me...... Wow. What a prince. NOT. Up until the last page. And the heroine was utterly pathetic. What a human doormat. She gets worse with each chapter. A virgin that let's a guy paddle her repeatedly and have anal sex with her less than a week later? In what universe? And everytime he hurts the heroine she goes running back to him, always apologizing. Ugh...too stupid to live!
Don't waste your money or your time!

This reads too too much like 50 Shades. The college virgin, the billionaire who has issues. The only difference is that Ian has a British accent. Francesca is annoying as hell!! How can a 20 something virgin go from naivtity to full blown BSDM!! The story is not believable and it took everything out of me to finish this book.
WOULDN'T recommend buying this novel. Not original nd has no originality....

    LOVETORESD BUT NOT THIS!!!

First read in September, 2013 and reread to refresh memory when informed that the next episode was available. My rating remained the same as before. I'm still not a fan of this type of erotica, dominate versus submissive. LA-TXN
