About the Author

The Juris Society Founder, Carletta Sanders is a Mississippi native and a first-generation graduate. She received her Bachelors in Human Resource Management from Park University, MO where she graduated with honors. She is currently a dual Law/ MBA student at Northern Illinois University where she is the President of the Business Law Society, Black Law Student Association and the Gay Straight Alliance. As a military veteran, she is no stranger to hard work, discipline and mentorship & comes with 5+ years’ experience. She discovered her natural ability to motivate others and began mentoring dozens of military members to attain their academic goals and has been doing ever since.

While preparing for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), she noticed the lack of information available to thoroughly explain the required steps needed before and after applying to law school. This was especially true for first generation law students who just didn’t know where to start. This is when “Becoming Esquire” along with The Juris Society ™ Mentorship Program began.

She stands true in her calling to assisting other first-generation graduates attain their goals of being accepted into law school and excelling while there. She lives by her mantra “Transparency, Tenacity and Triumph” and strives to introduce it to students who share common legal aspirations.
