Overview

Michelle Aguilar's inspiring story goes beyond her grand-prize victory on the immensely popular The Biggest Loser. Becoming Fearless is about having faith in God when you've lost faith in yourself. It is an encouragement to "feel the fear" in any obstacle in life without being paralyzed by it. Finally, it is a story about reconciliation between Michelle and her mother, an exploration of the difficult and freeing work of forgiveness, and a reminder that what you learn on the journey is even more important than the destination.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Aguilar was the winner of the sixth season of television's weight-loss contest The Biggest Loser; she is also known now as an advocate of the I Am Second movement (placing Jesus first and helping others overcome difficulties). This memoir details her life story up to, through, and beyond her television experience, emphasizing the continuing power of Christian faith in her life, experience, and recent marriage. VERDICT Upbeat and straightforward, Aguilar's book will speak to many Christians as well as other individuals looking for positive role models and help in life changes.

Personal story, was interesting even to someone unfamiliar with her as a participant in her season of Biggest Loser. Nook book is missing chapters 2-3, which appear to be pretty integral to understanding a big piece of Michelle's background.

It shows that God is with you through the hard and good times and will never leave u no matter what. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us ( phil. 4:13) we can conquer what others may think is impossible and show others what He can do through uss

Haven't finished reading it yet, but love it so far. Disappointed that chapters 2 & 3 are missing in Nook book. I went on to chapter 4 and have figured out some of the things missing.

This was a good book. Easy to read. If you are looking for a behind the scenes with BL, there is some but is more of a book on Michelle's inward battles and how she handled them. I would recommend it.

After reading this artical it moved me. Believing in god is the answer, let go of the pass and move forward. Keep intouch with yourself and god talk every moment like god is right there with you.

Worth reading. One woman relates her hidden and not so hidden personal struggles and her journey to overcome them.

This book was just okay. I appreciate that she tells her story honestly and honors God in her story. The book seemed to repeat the same stories at several points and the chronology of the story seemed off. It is somewhat motivating, which is what I think the author hoped to do.

Got interested in story until I got to page 37 when the book kept closing on me. Called B&N customer services who confirmed problem with book and would report to publisher. Told me I should receive report when fixed. Five months later still nothing!!! Very frustrated.

Inspiring! This story was very inspiring to read. I am glad that I read her story. We can achieve so much when we let go and let God do His work.

Chapters 2 and 3 missing from Nook version. Big disappointment! Love my E-reader, but becoming increasingly frustrated with sloppy editing practices of ebooks!

I hate to be critical on a book that was free, but tried 3 times to get into this book, and couldn't get past page 30. It's not for me.
