Yet another book given to me by a minister at my church, I was assigned to read this one in preparation for some group discussion with other people in my ministry area. This book asks the questions 'If not you, then who?' and 'If not now, then when?' in relation to church ministry. You say you don't like your current church? Why not? What could you do to change it? Why aren't you doing that? It's partly a call to action for lay people in the church, and partly a guide to correct action. I think this book is excellent, and should be useful to anybody who is either involved in their church or thinks they would like to get more involved than just showing up and filling a pew or chair on Sunday. The authors give some different ideas on how to structure ministry areas, how to be an effective lay leader, and how to improve your pastor's work, among other topics. The book itself is an easy read and won't take you that long, unless you find yourself spacing out for minutes as a time as you think of all the ways you can apply what you just read to your current church. Which isn't a bad thing, mind you. Bottom line, this is a great book for all church attenders to read and take to heart.
