Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"I had no idea I would enjoy Becoming Your Husband's Best Friend so much. Lisa and David gently, but persistently, offer reasons and ways of conversion. The authors share their gifts with the reader while not getting in the way of God's Grace. They do not avoid the issue that hard work and hope go together. It was a beautiful book!"
—Kris Lager, M.S., Executive Director, One Heart Equestrian Therapy

"Whether your marriage is great, on the rocks, or somewhere in between, this book will help you make it better."
Larry Osborne, author and pastor, North Coast Church

"Lisa and David Frisbie have hit another home run with the book, Becoming Your Husband's Best Friend! Their engaging writing style and crystal-clear real-life illustrations allow the reader to grasp the message of each chapter in a way that challenges him or her to look deep inside to see if similar issues reside there. Each chapter is followed by a series of questions under the title 'Reflections for Your Personal Journey.' These would make a valuable self-help guide or a small-group discussion guide that could produce valuable changes in anyone sharing the problems discussed. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to pastor, counselor, wives and husbands seeking to better understand marital relationships!"
—Dr. Dan Casey, lead pastor, First Church of the Nazarene, Little Rock, AR

    Amazing Insight!

I devoured this book! If you ever wanted to attend a relationship counseling session without really having to be there, "Husbands" is a MUST READ for you. The funny thing is, it's not about husbands at all. It is about how women think and react to married life and how that impacts the relationship. The colorful narrative beginning each chapter sets the scene and pulls you into the full emotional setting of the counseling session. Lisa and David get to share decades of experience listening to husbands and wives from a miraid of cultures, societies and countries around the world.
The authors don't shy away from either their own faith or the most troubling aspects that face many couples with which they minister. More than pastoring, these experts fully share their hearts and keen observations in a direct approach. I find it exceptional that David and Lisa can bring the reader into appling their message to all sorts of relationships, not just marriage.
It was a very comfortable and gentle way to feel included in a counseling session without being intrusive. Hearing the counselors' prayers, encouragement, as well as concerns, kept a good perspective. There was a very nice balance in sharing the counselors' input with hearing from the family member.
Best of all, David and Lisa never get in the way of God's Grace.

Highly recommended; reads like a novel

Through sensitively focused glimpses at real-life marriages, including her own to her fellow counselor husband, written in a style that flows like a novel, this book is a gold mine of wisdom for wives wanting to have a better marriage.
