All Music Guide - Tim Sendra
Bedroom Communities, Vol. 2: ReLounge seeks to soothe and groove electronic music fans. The 13 tracks range from the soulful funk of the J-88 remix of Innerzone Orchestra's cover of the Stylistics' hit "People Make the World Go Round" to the slinky modern dub of Freddie Cruger's "Running From Love" to the lounge-y soul of Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band's "Nikita" to the cinematic jazz-hop of Fort Knox Five's "The Big Score." The highlight of the disc is Kenny Dope and the Undercover Brother's extended remix of Manzel's "Space Funk" that shakes some serious jazz-funk with T.S.O.P.-style strings to boot! on the dancefloor. The collection offers some rarities for downtempo collectors: previously unreleased tracks by Monophonic "Dear Diary", Dugsoul "Mellow Love", Dynamoe "Clowns and Prophets, Bitches and Backers", and DJ Trax the instrumental mix of "Mysterious Eyes". Overall, the collection lives up to its goals and provides a smooth soundtrack to a late night or early morning of whatever.
