Overview

An unexplained object falls from the sky north of San Francisco, a little girl goes missing in the heart of the Mexican jungle, and mystic religions everywhere rocket into overdrive. For struggling filmmaker Andie Mckenna, it’s just another day on the West Coast.

Until she receives a cryptic telegram: “Come quick, your father is dying.”

Interesting, since she’s an orphan.

Suddenly, Andie finds herself number one on the US Government’s “persons of interest” list, and she has no idea why.

What's worse, to help her solve the mystery she must rely on a boy she's never met, a man from her past she can't trust, and a Catholic priest who knows a secret about her past. A secret that will change her life and alter the world forever. And she must do this all within three days before everything ends.

Everything, including her life.

A friend of mine went to college with the author and said I had to check it out. Really glad I did. This was probably one of the most entertaining books I've read in a long time. The first chapter totally blew me away, especially the last sentence, and it just got better after that. I hate books that are predictable, and Bee House Rising is anything but. I couldn't put it down, and that doesn't happen to me with most of the books I read. Ms Boyer writes a beautiful narrative with great dialogue and unique characters. The only disappointment I had was when the book ended. I hope the author turns this into a series. I want to know what happens to...well, I can't say. It'd give the ending away. Great job. Great book. She sort of reminds me of Neil Gaiman with a little more quirk. For a debut novel, it seriously kicks...well, you get the idea. I highly recommend it.
