PreS The title is far longer than the text in this strikingly handsome concept book that introduces all of the colors that a bee encounters before returning to his dark hive. With the profusion of concept books available, librarians may well ask if they need yet another. This is a fine choice, comparable in quality to Crews' Freight Train (Greenwillow, 1978) and Kalan's Rain (Greenwillow, 1978). Its bold silk-screen images fill the double-page spreads, with just a hint of what the inquisitive bee will find on the next page. Preschoolers will want to tell their own versions of the story and will ask for it time and again. Luann Toth, Summit Free Public Library, N.J.
